A little breathing room..

Finally things have calmed down.. thank God.  So it turns out that my Dad's original doctor was just full of sh*t.  My Dad went in for his CAT scan and it turns out that there had been no growth at all.  His aneurysm is still at a 4.  We have no idea WTH his was thinking.  I have had my doubts about this certain doctor for many years now.. and now once again, my doubts were confirmed.  My Dad has now decided to stick with the AZ Heart Institute for all his tests now.. YAY!! They are an amazing facility.  I'm so glad that he came to that decision.  We should have news on my Mom's ultrasound today, hopefully.  If not today, it will come this week.  Keeping my fingers crossed that everything there is okay as well.

On a positive note, with all the stress I had last week I somehow managed to lose 9 pounds. And then another pound between Friday and Monday.  As much as I hate to be stressed out and worried, it seems to work well for weight loss.. go figure :/ 

On to other news.. I had a really good weekend.  I spent part of the day on Saturday cleaning, blah.  And then went over to my friend Heather's house for a Blockhead party. We had a great time and shared so many laughs.  I really needed it after all the stress of the previous week.  All I can say is Cookie Monster and VaJayJay's.. don't ask LMAO It was freaking hilarious some of the things we heard from one of the girls there.  And I found out that Kamikaze is my new favorite shot.  That was YUMMY!!

Austin got his lip pierced.. he got a labret.  Once it heals, I will post a picture.  It really doesn't look too bad.  It makes me want to re-pierce my lip now :)  I was a little apprehensive about letting him to do this.. but he really is a good kid and has really been working his butt off in school.  He also has been doing really good here at home as well.  And if this is the worst thing that he ever does, then I am good.  We let him gauge his ears last year, with the understanding that we will only allow him to go to a certain size until he is 18.  After that, it's all up to him.  So far, that has really worked out well.

When will it stop..

I have been asking myself this question since last week.  Last week, my Mom had to go in for her annual mammogram.  The next day, she received a phone call that they wanted her to go in and have an ultrasound done.  Apparently there was something on the mammogram.  So she went in yesterday and had it done.  According to the tech, there didn't appear to be anything there.  But she won't know for sure until her doctor receives the results.  Now on to my Dad.. he has an aneurysm and has had it for a few years. It was quite small.  The doctors have told him that they can't do anything until it reaches a 5.  So for the past couple years, he has been going in to have it looked at every 3 months.  When they first found it, it was at a 3.. and after about a year or so it went up to a 4 where it has remained.  Well, now it has jumped up to a 6.  So today, he had to go in for a CT scan just to be sure that it is actually a 6.  Regardless if it is or not, he will have to have surgery to put a stint in his aorta.  And once again, we won't know anything until next week. This is just frightening to me.. I think that it worries me more just because my Dad is older (he's in his 60's).  I know that surgery is risky anyways, but to add age on top of it and high blood pressure.. no good.  All I can do at this point is pray and just stay positive.

Finally..

So, I think that it's about time that I use this thing.. I've been meaning to use it, but then put it off for a lack of things to blog about. I still don't have a whole lot to talk about, but something's better than nothing :)

Let's see.. the boys are in their 3rd week of school. They both seem to be doing really well. Austin already has straight A's and Jacob has all A's and 1 B. And they have both been busy with lots of homework. So far, so good. I just cannot believe how much they have grown.. they are not my little boys anymore. They are now young men.

Here is Austin on his first day of school this year.. he is now in 10th grade. He looks thoroughly amused in this pic.. NOT LOL He is not a morning person in the least.
























And here is Jacob.. his first day of 7th grade (junior high). He was very excited to start school :)



The boys had a great summer.. they did a lot of dirt biking other motor sports. They went out riding just about every weekend. And a few trips out to the lake. As for me, I went to Las Vegas in May and NYC in June to see New Kids on the Block in concert :) Since I canceled the cruise, I had extra money. So I decided to go to a few shows to make up for the cruise. And let me tell you , it was well worth it. Both trips were absolutely amazing and I wouldn't have traded them for anything. I saw 1 show in Vegas and 3 in NYC at Radio City Music Hall. NYC is an amazing city.. I hope one day to go back there for an non-concert trip and just sight-see with the family.

Other than that, not a whole lot going on right now. Just trying to get back into the swing of things with the boys back in school.
